The last rays of sunlight in Luxembourg City. Luxembourg.

I went for a walk later that evening and I found this park. I was absolutely amazed by the colors and the way the light played on the fountains. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

This particular photo reminds me of something straight out of the video game "Halo". Or maybe someone being beamed up old school style from Star Trek. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

This was the coolest playground I have ever seen. It is hard to tell from the photo but this play ship was probably 150 feet long and about three stories high. The netting that you see actually connects it to another ship out of frame. I played in this park, well let say a long time. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

The river that runs through the city. It is like a small valley in the middle of the city, probably 200 feet down. The walls that you see to your left give you an idea of the height. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

This is what is called a Spanish tower. In Luxembourg they have maps that give visitors a self guided tour itinerary. This maps show everything in the city except for the Spanish towers. I had to see them....see next photo. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.

So on my quest to find these Spanish towers I had to climb a mountain, (I would call it a hill, they called it a mountain) crawl through a locked gate (clearly marked "Do not enter" in several languages thusly foiling my plan to be able to say "I am sorry, I don't speak the language") and avoid an elderly lady who had probably had a little too much to drink. Luxembourg July 2007. This was one of my favorite spots. I went to a local market and picked up a hunk of parmeggiano-reggiano cheese and a loaf of simple, rustic bread and I sat here and had lunch. It was very peaceful, especially after Paris-Amsterdam-Brussels. Luxembourg City, Luxembourg.
